Saturday, August 13, 2005 - Early this morning the Nassau West National Security Council (NSC) voted to impose economic sanctions on First Unified Council of Kingdoms (FUCK) member nation the Xochi Republic.
These sanctions include, but are not limited to, any visits, official or otherwise, that are financed even in part by the Federal Republic of Nassau West, in relation to the Xochi Republic or it's leader, President Chris Walsh.
According to the NSC, the scales are tipped in great favor of the Xochi Republic, which generally pays nothing for meetings between the two nations and their leaders. It is estimated that in 2004 the Federal Republic of Nassau West paid out in excess of $1,000 during meetings between Nassau West President Kelly K. Bartram and Xochi Republic President Chris Walsh.
During this same period, the Federal Republic of Nassau West recorded total expenditures toward Nassau West from the Xochi Republic as less than $100. Bartram stated during the meeting, "this deficit is simply unacceptable. We are being chumps, and it must stop now."
The National Security Council is demanding that the Xochi Republic organize a Department of Labor, or something similar, and start producing revenue for itself. Up to this point, the Xochi Republic has relied on the goodwill of others to get by.
The particularly alarming detail of all of this is that President Walsh has a much better lifestyle than does President Bartram. Walsh is free to do as he pleases, while not working, while Bartram and every member of the Nassau West federal government have functions in the private sector, as well as their Nassau West obligations.
During the impromptu meeting this morning, Bartram said, "I think there's a time when you need to recognize a poor investment, and cut your losses. President Walsh clearly has no desire to provide revenue for his country, or even for himself. That's got to change, and if this is the only way to assist in that endeavor, then so be it."
Over the course of the friendship between Bartram and Walsh, Bartram maintains that Walsh has only been employed for maybe three years of the ten years they've known each other. Bartram is also quick to note that those three years are broken up in small segments over the ten years.
"Chris has never maintained employment for very long. He mysteriously gets 'laid off' from every job he has. This includes a stint at a local grocery store in Phoenix and a call center in Phoenix, both of which he was 'let go' from, rather than 'laid off.'"
Nassau West President Kelly K. Bartram is planning to schedule one final visit to the Xochi Republic for later today to advise President Walsh of the newly-imposed embargo on his country. "It will be a sad event, but a necessary one," said President Bartram, who will also be visiting Nassau West Vice President Michael O'Brien if he can fit the trip into his schedule.
