Busy Weekend for President

Sunday, September 25, 2005 - This weekend was a busy one for Nassau West President Kelly K. Bartram. At 9:05 Saturday morning, he headed to the Phoenix office of Huddleston Trucking Service, Inc., to retrieve freight for an early Monday delivery in Tucson.

Bartram arrived just after noon and chatted with company co-owner Joe Huddleston. While the two talked, the recent increase in the workload in the Tucson office came up, and they discussed options to alleviate some of the long hours that have been put in by some at the Tucson office.

The idea of increasing the staff was quickly dismissed. However, some staffing changes were considered, and will probably be implemented in the next few weeks. One of the current drivers at the Tucson office will likely be replaced with someone that would be available for a full work schedule.

Bartram requested that he at least sit in on any interviews with potential new hires and give his input and opinions before anyone were hired. Huddleston told Bartram that contrary to what most believe, Bartram does have the authority to hire and fire personnel at the Tucson office.

After their discussion, Bartram loaded up the truck he brought from Tucson with a full load of cargo destined for Tucson. He departed Huddleston Trucking ahead of 2 PM, and went to lunch with Chief John Kieff of the Savage Nation of Tigibumwah at a Chinese buffet in Tempe, AZ.

Bartram and Kieff discussed Kieff's plan to sell his home in Mesa, AZ, and relocate to Benson and live in the Nassau West Capitol. Kieff will have diplomatic immunity as required by the First Unified Council of Kingdoms. He plans to sell his home and move into the Capitol in January of next year.

President Bartram left the Phoenix metro area about 3:30 and returned the truck to Tucson. When he arrived at the Tucson office, he unloaded the truck and returned to the Capitol, where he arrived shortly after 6 PM. After a quick "costume" change, the President went aboard Nassau West One to Tombstone.

Bartram got to Tombstone a little after 7 PM and proceeded to the Dragoon Saloon in search of Nassau West Tombstone Ambassador Carey Granger, whose birthday was Friday. The two stumbled about town for several hours stopping into a few different watering holes.

While in the Crystal Palace Saloon, they listened to a band called Krysis (pronounced cri·sis). The President said he thought the band was very good. Bartram also made final amends with the people he inadvertently angered last month and invited him to "keep walking."

Eventually, as is the case during most trips to Tombstone, Bartram made his way to Vogan's Alley Bar for last call. Once again, the President found himself being invited to battle of fisticuffs. Completely unaware of the cause for this, he tried to get an answer from the man who apparently went by the nickname of "Froggy."

President Bartram found this nickname to be particularly amusing, and reported to Froggy that his nickname was "Javelina." While the cause for the near brawl was never learned, Bartram remembers that he asked the man on three different occasions what is name was. Perhaps that made him "fightin' mad?"

Before anything got out of hand, Bartram was asked by the bartender on duty to leave, as if he stayed, he would probably get his ass kicked. The President chuckled at her request, but left the establishment regardless. There were no further incidents.

Bartram arrived at the Capitol at about fifteen minutes past noon today. The Secretary of State has been apprised of the situation, and a full boycott of Vogan's Alley Bar was imposed immediately for an indefinite amount of time while an investigation into the offer made to the President is thoroughly investigated.
